Alumni Business Month Series Part 1: Meet and Greet School of Business
Alumni Business Month Series kicked off on 2nd April, 2025 with a meet and greet for School of Business alumni. The event was organized by the MKU Alumni Relations Directorate in conjunction with Mount Kenya University School of Business.
It attracted 224 alumni from different campuses, creating a platform for networking, mentorship, and professional development. The primary objective of the webinar was to allow members from the School of Business to get to know one another and share their career journeys, growth, and challenges in the business world.
Some of the key discussions that were held in the webinar were:
1. Career Growth & Professional Development: Alumni shared experiences on career progression, industry challenges, and skill development, and what those alumni’s looking for jobs need to do in order to be considered for various job opportunities
2. Alumni Mentorship Program: different alumni’s looking for mentees were able to request and interested individuals were able to contact them via the contact details they shared
3. Audience Participation: live chat discussions kept engagement high.
In Conclusion the Meet and Greet Webinar successfully achieved its objectives by fostering meaningful connections between alumni of the School of Business. The event provided valuable insights into career and industry expectations while strengthening the professional network within the MKU business community.
The next session in the series, Making Your Business Bankable, will take place on 9th April 2025. This session will focus on tax compliance, financial record keeping, and practical strategies that can help alumni structure their businesses to attract funding, partnerships, and ensure sustainable growth.
