Alumni Vision Board Training
The Alumni Relations Directorate successfully conducted a Vision Board Training webinar, “From Intent to Impact,” on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, attracting 1,250 alumni participants.
The webinar was facilitated by Dr. Zippy Okoth, a mentor, motivational speaker, and expert in personal development and leadership. She empowers individuals to achieve their goals through intentional planning, mindset transformation, and practical strategies.

The session provided a structured platform for self-reflection, goal setting, and long-term life planning. Through guided discussions and practical examples, alumni were encouraged to clarify their purpose, align their ambitions with their values, and adopt positive habits that support growth. The training was anchored on Habakkuk 2:2 (NIV), emphasizing the importance of clearly writing down one’s vision to guide action, focus, and accountability, while fostering a shared culture of intentional living within the alumni community.
The primary objective of the webinar was to equip participants with practical skills for setting both long-term and short-term goals while motivating them to pursue meaningful life aspirations. Alumni were encouraged to reflect on their values, priorities, and areas of growth by addressing key questions such as where they want to be, who they aspire to become, and what aspects of their lives require improvement. The session emphasized the importance of intentional self-prioritization as a foundation for sustainable personal development.
During the training, Dr. Okoth highlighted that personal growth requires deliberate change, including the adoption of positive habits, attitude adjustment, and reassessment of social influences. Participants were guided on differentiating between long-term goals, which have lasting impact and take more than a year to achieve, and short-term goals, which can be accomplished within a year and serve as stepping stones toward long-term success.
The facilitator further outlined the characteristics of an effective vision, noting that goals must be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound. Participants were guided on structuring their vision boards around key life areas such as family and relationships, friendships and social engagement, self-love and health, spiritual and emotional growth, career development, and financial stability, all of which contribute to a balanced and fulfilling life.
Practical insights on money management and investment were also shared, with emphasis placed on cultivating a saving culture, investing consistently, managing risk through diversification, and building strong professional networks. The session underscored the role of healthy relationships and intentional networking as critical pillars for both personal and financial growth.
The webinar concluded with practical guidance on creating vision boards using methods such as magazine cut-outs, digital applications, drawings, and journaling. Participants were encouraged to document their visions clearly and review them regularly for motivation and accountability. Overall, the Vision Board Training webinar was highly impactful, with strong alumni participation.
