Alumni School of Nursing Meet and Greet” Webinar
The School of Nursing Meet and Greet webinar was hosted by the Directorate of Alumni Relations in partnership with the School of Nursing on 5th of May 2025 as part of its continued effort to strengthen alumni engagement and student-alumni interaction. The event served as a space for reflection, inspiration, and career insight, where nursing alumni shared real-life experiences to motivate and guide current students.

The webinar attracted a remarkable turnout of 68 alumni and a few 3rds and 4th year students from school of nursing, representing various graduation years and career backgrounds. Their active participation and willingness to share insights underscored the strong sense of community within the School of Nursing and demonstrated the value of alumni engagement in shaping the professional outlook of current students. The Dean of the School of Nursing, Mr. George Njoroge, was present at the event, showing strong institutional support and reinforcing the importance of alumni-student connections in academic and professional development.
The core of the webinar was an engaging story sharing session where alumni took turns narrating their journeys after graduating from the School of Nursing. Their stories illustrated:
- Both traditional and alternative career paths in nursing.
- Transitions into public health, education, research, entrepreneurship, and healthcare administration.
- How nursing knowledge has been effectively applied in diverse industries.
- The importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
The authentic, experience-based approach resonated strongly with student attendees.
The Nurse and Greet webinar successfully fulfilled its goal of reconnecting alumni with the School of Nursing while creating a platform for meaningful interaction with current students. The event highlighted the diverse pathways available within and beyond the nursing profession and reinforced the value of shared experiences in professional growth. The nurses requested for a training on Artificial Intelligence for nursing and how it benefits the field of nursing.
